-
Terminator: Phage fd terminator
Selection marker: Chloramphenicol (cam)
Replicon: Escherichia coli plasmid pMB1 origin
Phage f1 origin
Host range: Escherichia coli
Parental clone: pMc58; pPAP5
Further information: This plasmid was constructed by inserting the EcoRV-PstI fragment of pPAP5 (containing the papA gene) between the SmaI and PstI sites of the polylinker of pMc58.
The plasmid contains the promoterless papA gene, and is used for mutagenesis.
After mutagenesis, use mutS strains for primary transformation (e.g. sup(-) strain WK6mutS, sup(+) strain BMH71-18mutS); for segregation of possible mutants: sup(-) strains (e.g. WK6).
Other name of the plasmid is pMc58PAPA.
